Nature and Scope of Advice
We provide advice on a range of lending matters, including:
- Residential lending
- Construction lending
- Business and commercial lending
- Property investment lending
We do not provide advice on:
- KiwiSaver or investment products
- Insurance products, although we may refer you to a trusted provider
- Legal or tax advice
Lenders and Product Providers
We work with both banks and non-bank lenders across New Zealand.
We are not tied to any one provider, and recommendations are made based on your situation, objectives, and the lending structure most suited to your needs.
Fees and Costs
In most cases, we do not charge a fee for our services because we are paid by the lender.
In some circumstances, including complex lending or non-bank lending, a fee may apply. If so, it will always be discussed and agreed with you before we proceed.
Commissions
When a loan settles, we may receive commission from the lender involved.
- Upfront commission typically ranges from 0.55% to 0.85%
- Trail commission typically ranges from 0.15% to 0.20%
- A refix fee of approximately $150 may be paid if we assist with refixing your loan
- Referral commissions may also apply in some situations and will be disclosed before proceeding
Clawback and Client Fees
If a loan is repaid, refinanced, or materially changed within 28 months of settlement, the lender may require us to repay some or all of the commission received.
If that occurs, a client fee may apply. Any fee will:
- Not exceed $3,500
- Be based on an hourly rate of $300
- Not exceed the amount we are required to repay to the lender
Conflicts of Interest
We may receive commissions and referral fees from lenders or referral partners.
These are managed through a structured advice process designed to prioritise your interests and support recommendations that are appropriate for your circumstances.
Duties
We are required to act with care, diligence, and skill, and to meet standards of ethical behaviour and client care.
That includes acting in your best interests when advice is provided.
Referral Partners
We may refer clients to trusted providers where it is appropriate to do so.
This may include insurance providers, Tower (Fire & General Insurance), and XE Money.
If a referral fee applies, that will be disclosed before proceeding.

We will acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 7 working days where possible.
